Dr Nontokozo Dephney Matume

Researcher and Lecturer

Dr Matume holds a PhD degree in Microbiology and is trained in South Africa and the USA. She was one of the recipients of the pre-doctoral NIH-funded Global Infectious Disease Research Training fellowship at the University of Virginia in 2015 and 2016. She has more than 10 years of experience and training in viral molecular genetics, molecular basis of HIV drug resistance, the burden of oncogenic viruses (HHV-8 and HPV), viral host interactions, Next Generation Sequencing and Bioinformatics.
