Before joining the University of KwaZulu-Natal Dr Michelle Tedder worked for a number of research organisations including Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife and SAEON. Her PhD was based in the Okavango Delta, Botswana, where she developed a vegetation map and investigated the influence of management on vegetation structure and composition. Her MSc focussed on bush encroachment examining the above and belowground interactions between trees and grasses. She is a member of the Nutrient Network Global Research Initiative and the Drought Network and serves as a PI and co-PI on multiple sites within these networks.
