Dr Ché Pillay

Senior Lecturer

Dr Ché Pillay completed his PhD at the University of Natal. He then worked at the MRC HIV Prevention Research Unit and completed postdocs with Jannie Hofmeyr and Johann Rohwer (Stellenbosch University). Dr Pillay currently holds an NRF C1 rating.

Research interests

Redoxin (thioredoxin, glutaredoxin, peroxiredoxin) networks play critical roles in DNA synthesis, antioxidant defence and redox regulation and dysregulation of these networks are associated with several diseases. My lab is interested in the systems biology of these networks.
