Edgar Farai Dzomba

Edgar is an Animal Breeder & Geneticist with a passion for utilizing modern biotechnological tools for understanding livestock populations of Southern Africa. His research group focuses on genomics research required to manage and preserve genetic diversity in livestock breeds and species in Southern Africa.

Edgar joined the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2008 as a lecturer in Animal Genetics and lectures courses in Population & Quantitative Genetics (GENE310), Animal Genetics (GENE350) and Advanced Animal Breeding & Genetics (GENE718). He is currently registered for PhD studies with the University of KwaZulu-Natal researching on the genomics of indigenous sheep breeds of South Africa.
